O-Ring Lubricant

Do O-Rings Need to be Lubricated?
In short – YES
Why? An unlubricated o-ring can distort, rip, be cut, pinch or tear when being installed. It can stick or rip during removal. This can create a situation where we have compromised the integrity of the seal. By using a thin coat of lubrication can prevents the o-ring from drying out, reduce tension between surfaces, and fit the part tighter into place while keeping the integrity of the o-ring itself.
