A common gasketing error occurs when the reassembly process is rushed. Many mechanics do not torque the components correctly(“tight is tight” or use the Ugga Dugga method) to return a vehicle back to service sooner. When combined with improper or incomplete cleaning, using too much gasket maker, not following the instructions, or waiting the proper cure time can create most of the issues we have discussed. The old days of “This is how we always have done it”, and the fact that A lot of people state that they don’t have “Any Issues” doing it this way doesn’t make it right. If you want your gasket to seal correctly, using the correct methods is critical.
